Commissioner Gord Welbourne Inducted into Babe Ruth League Hall of
Fame
At
Babe Ruth League’s International Board of Director’s annual meeting,
Gord was unanimously elected into its Hall of Fame.
Gord has been involved with the Babe Ruth program since 1969
volunteering at the local league level in many positions including
Umpire-in-Chief, Coach/Manager, and League President. He then went
on to serve as Assistant Provincial and then as the Provincial
Commissioner of the British Columbia Babe Ruth Leagues. In 2000 he
was elected as the Pacific Northwest Regional Commissioner and a
member of the International Board of Directors of Babe Ruth League,
Inc., a position he still holds.
In addition to the Babe Ruth League Hall of Fame award, Gord has
received many other recognitions during his dedicated volunteering
and involvement with the development of youth baseball.

1991 - Inducted into BC Babe
Ruth Baseball’s Hall of Fame
2009 - Inducted into the City
of Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame as a Builder
2010 - Inducted into the
Pacific Northwest Region’s Roll of Honor
Babe Ruth League President/CEO Steven Tellefsen, in
his acknowledgement of Gord’s Hall of Fame election, welcomed him as
one who has played a major role in the development of the Babe Ruth
program and is most deserving of this distinguished honor. Gord
joins 17 other individuals and 2 organizations from the Pacific
Northwest Region recognized as worthy inductees since the formation
of the Babe Ruth League’s Hall of Fame program in 1968.
The Hall of Fame Award will be presented to Gord at
PNW’s Annual Spring Meeting in Reno
We have packaged all 5 videos for setting
up rosters and ID Cards to creating tournament rosters and posting
team photos. These videos are also posted in the HELP DESK link on
the website and Data Center. Postcards
will be sent to each league president with a
label that will contain the link for their individual league
website.
